Subjects Taught
4th grade

After graduating high school in western New York, I attended Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.  Upon completing my four years, I received  two degrees, the first in Elementary Education (1-6) and the other in Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12).

My love of St. Augustine, Florida through my college years had me plant my roots in the historic and beautiful town upon graduation.  I began my teaching journey at a private Catholic School in the very heart of the historic district.  While teaching first grade for six years, I also created and built a cheerleading program for the 4-8 graders.

Moving to the public school system in a neighboring county, I jumped into teaching fourth grade.  Of the eight years I spend there, the last four had me focused on math and science with a team-teacher teaching ELA and Social Studies.

With 14 wonderful years of teaching in Florida under my belt, I took a two year break.  Along with the passing of my father, which in itself was a life-altering event, an opportunity arose that allowed me to expand my personal education, growth, and experiences.  I moved to California and began working for a luxury sports car racing team, specializing in Porsche, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin.  That was truly an adventure I will treasure for a lifetime.

Missing my family on the east coast as well as the teaching profession, we made the move to eastern North Carolina.  Now, as I settle into a new home, new town, and new school, I am confident that this was the correct place to call home.
